In 2024, a 7”4 phenomenon by the name of Victor Wembyana had arguably the most out-of-this-world rookie season the NBA had ever seen. A talent so unique and extraterrestrial, Lebron nicknamed him ‘The Alien’. A name that became more true with every game.

So, in the weeks leading up to the Rookie Of The Year Announcement, Nike chose to honor this once-in-a-lifetime supernatural talent at a once-in-a-lifetime supernatural moment. Moments after the total eclipse entered the US through Texas, a 600ft crop circle honoring Wemby was revealed in rural San Antonio, only miles from where Wemby plays for the Spurs. 

A crop circle design featuring an alien head in the center of a basketball, the symbol of the sport he is taking over. It's fair to say the reaction was out of this world. 

A supernatural tribute to a supernatural talent.
